（某フード）は色が黒っぽくコロコロ状で量も少ない。一方バックトゥベーシックスは茶・黄色っぽく多少柔らか味があり、量も（某フード）に比べ多少多め。食餌から排便までの時間はバックトゥベーシックスの方が短い。
もともとシェルティは体臭がほとんど無いので、変化も認められない。
一方、シェルティはよだれが少ないせいか多少口臭があるが、バックトゥベーシックスにして、口臭が減ったような気がする。
